It’s up to you and me to speak up on their behalf. That’s why as we work to connect 1 million more kids with healthy school breakfast, we need you to help send 1 million messages about the importance of school breakfast. We’re challenging America’s leaders — governors, mayors, school boards, principals and others —  to stand up for kids and help close the “breakfast gap” in their own communities.

We know this goal is achievable. Since the launch of the No Kid Hungry campaign, more than 2 million kids have already been added to the school breakfast program. We’ve seen breakthrough legislation, policy changes and wins in Arkansas, Colorado, Maryland, Los Angeles and New Orleans.

Just last week I met with 7 Governors who are all committed to increasing breakfast participation in their states. I was in Arkansas and in Montana where the need is really high and I saw the benefits of breakfast in the classroom on the faces of kids who might have come to school too hungry to learn.

I’m part of the movement, and I hope you will join me.
